Do you lazily play with your smartphone right until you go to sleep?
Even on holidays when you have the precious luxury of free time, do you still find yourself pointlessly looking at your smartphone?
Are you trying to concentrate on reading but getting distracted by frequent notifications from social media like Twitter?
……
If you have any of these symptoms of smartphone addiction, why not try setting up a focus mode?
What is Focus Mode?
The iPhone's Focus Assist is a feature that limits the apps and incoming calls you use according to your needs. Through Focus Assist, you can control who you connect with, at what time, and through what apps.
Today, NIMASO will be giving a thorough explanation of the iPhone's Focus Mode. Let's set up the Focus Mode with NIMASO and reduce distractions.
Customize Do Not Disturb Mode to suit your needs
In addition to the default settings of "Do Not Disturb", "Personal", "Work" and "Sleep" , you can add other modes to the "Focus Mode" by tapping "+" at the top of the screen. You can freely set your own name by tapping "+" - [Custom] . For example, how about "NIMASO is the best" (just kidding).
If you turn on "Device Sharing " , devices such as iPad and Apple Watch will be synced, so there is no need to set it up multiple times.

Select the mode you want, then go to "Settings" to choose the people and apps you want to be able to contact. First, set the contacts you want to allow notifications for:
-
Choose contacts and apps for which you want to allow notifications
On the "Contacts allowed to notify" screen, decide who you want to allow to receive notifications.
Tap "Incoming Calls" to set who will receive the call.
By the way, if you turn on "Allow Repeated Calls" , you will receive a notification if the same person calls you a second time within three minutes.
I thought, "Maybe I should just set my settings so that I don't receive any contact from my superiors at NIMASO so I can concentrate on writing..." but I didn't have the courage to do it, so I gave up (#^.^#).

-
Select the apps you want to allow notifications for
On the " Apps to allow notifications " screen, you can select the apps for which you want to allow notifications from among your installed apps.
When you want to do something, you may be able to increase your efficiency by turning off notification icons for LINE and SNS, and hiding unrelated game and video apps entirely on the home screen.

After selecting the contacts and apps you want to allow notifications for, set the features in "Options" with NIMASO:
-
"Focus Mode Status" - "Share Focus Mode Status" lets people who send you a message know that you have Focus Mode enabled.
-
In "Home screen" and "Lock screen" , you can create your own home screen and lock screen for each mode to suit your needs.
-
Set mode to Automate
Click "Add Schedule or Automation" to enter conditions such as time, location, app, etc. After setting up, there is no need to manually set it up every day, and this mode can be turned on/off automatically as you like.

You can easily switch between focus modes by tapping the focus mode in Control Center.
(The Control Center can be accessed by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen.)
